why hyperventilation tends to happen after eating or drinking something?

Same for vocal cord dysfunction (VCD). For people with VCD or chronic hyperventilation, new attacks can arise out of nowhere, often after eating or drinking something (simple like a glass of water, not alcohol, not gerd related). What is the body mechanism for this?

Drinking/eating post-consuming is not just you sitting there and taking it. Its a very complex organic process where several organs are fired up and the body starts to concentrate blood flow/production of enzymes. Needless to say, this is kinda stressful for the body.

Assuming the hyperventilation is not caused by extremely poor health, it’s likely the stress from processing food bullshits the brain into thinking you are experiencing a stressful event and thus you start to hyperventilation process.
