Blue blocking glasses.

How do I still see all of the blue colors when wearing my reading glasses with a blue blocking coating on them? I can see the solid blue reflection from my computer screen on my lenses when looking at myself through my phone camera. So the filter seems to be working but the colors I see don’t seem to change with or without the glasses.

Blue-blocking glasses don’t block all blue light, just a large portion of it.

After looking through the glasses for a while, your brain will naturally adjust to the new color conditions by white balancing. Viewing a white color through the glasses initially looks yellow but soon, your brain adjusts to the lowered blue levels by increasing blue light signal and it’ll look more white. If you take off the glasses, everything will have an increased blue tint for a short period of time as your brain adjusts back. The same occurs when wearing blue-blocking ski/snowboard goggles or sunglasses.

Cameras perform the same type of white balancing since the color of an object depends on the lighting condition. A white piece of paper in incandescent lighting looks yellow but the same paper looks blue under florescent lighting. White balance adjusts the colors so that paper looks white in both conditions.
