Caffeine’s effects and half life

I searched and found a similar question but that was focused on the mathematical explanation on how caffeine won’t continue to build up in our system from daily intake. I’m more curious about the effects during a half life.

Is there more to feeling caffeine’s effects than simply the amount still in the blood?

I know it varies on person but lets use 5hrs for caffeine’s half life. If I take 200mg caffeine at 5am that means there will be 100mg of caffeine in my system at 10am right? So 10am (on that day) should still feel just as stimulating as if I took 100mg only at 10am (on another day) or am I missing something?

The other element in the equation to consider is that the body very quickly adapts to the caffeine intake. So if you don’t have any caffeine for a month or so your first hit of caffeine will impact you more than a second of the same amount, in fact after a while the caffeine is no longer a stimulant, but is just postponing the crash when you stop drinking.
