Can Sour be considered an Odor?

I’m trying to describe the odor of a flavored salted egg and apparently because of the extra ingredient I used, it smells a bit sour(?)

yes. Old milk, especially, smells sour.

taste and smell are very closely linked, thats why people hold their nose when eating something they think tastes bad.
