do butt hairs serve a purpose?

Does hair around the b hole serve any purpose? Did it in the past? It’s it more just an aesthetic thing? Are there any draw backs and down sides to having hair around the b hole?

Hair helps with friction. Butts have friction when we walk. Arms have friction when they sway when we walk, so we have armpit hair. We have hair other places, but it’s collective around the friction areas.

Lots of reasons, but one that hasn’t been mentioned yet: ripping a fart with a shaved bhole is 100x louder because there’s no hair to pad the space between your cheeks. Like farting on a vinyl chair.

Men who shave the butt hair report a suction effect on the butt cheeks—also an annoying amount of sweat.

Just going to chime in here since all the other answer seem to be complety foolharted. They serve a purpose in that if you pluck them you will get an infection. If you use nair good luck shitting correctly for a week or so. And as you might know that waxing or as you put it B hole bleaching hurts also But why the question out of curiousity?

Mostly warmth. The most temperature sensitive areas in the body are the crotch/ass and the armpits. When you try to cool someone in a hospital setting that’s exactly where you put the ice packs.

It’s a survival feature. In an emergency situation, with enough butthole hair, diarrhea comes out as filtered drinking water.

As a cancer survivor who lost all of his hair during chemo, and I do mean all of it, I can say with certainty that ass hair acts as a “fart silencer”. Without hair, my farts were a sonic cannon, capable of overpowering even foghorns. With hair down there? Complete and utter silence. The haunting nothingness of the void just around the bend.

No doubt humankind evolved hirsute hafts as a means of keeping off predators; the lone slip of a booty blaster at night would have called all of the wolves to the yard. Hence, hair.

Any hair near a joint operates to reduce friction and chafing, especially for long distance running.

Ventilation. You wouldnt think it would make that much of a difference but it creates a small layer that promotes air flow. Shave your ass and see how much sweatier it gets and how tightly your cheeks seal together

Drawbacks to ass hair? Pilonidal cysts.
