do muscular people always look so defined (even when just sitting around doing nothing) or are they just flexing for photos/videos?

It’s a combo of body fat percentage, hydration levels, and post-workout pump.

The lower your body fat percentage the more toned you look regularly. Generally speaking the lower your bfp the better, up to a point. You can be dangerously low but it’s typically hard to do.

The less hydrated you are the more toned you will look. This is absolutely not a good idea long term. Hydration is super important for basically everything your body does.

After a workout you get what’s called a “pump” where all the blood rushes to whatever muscles you used. This makes them appear much bigger.

Actors, models, bodybuilders, use all 3 to look they way they do on screen and in pictures.
