Fish that are kept in a fishtank with no stimulation are known to repeatedly jump out of the tank, leading to their own deaths.
Whether or not this is intentional, or if they’re even capable of it being intentional, is still up for debate, however.
Birds will dive head first into the ground if they’re unwell and know they won’t get better, resulting in a broken neck.
Not sure about other animals but I now there have been cases of mass suicide among dolphins, where they all just sink to the bottom and never come back up
There was a dolphin who the United States had a human raise in captivity in a half-flooded house in the hopes to have it learn human speech. Then when it reached sexual maturity the trainer started giving it toss jobs to keep it from becoming aggressive. In a last ditch effort to teach it human speech the government started giving them both LSD presumably just because they had a surplus from MKUltra and nothing to lose.
But yeah, when the trainer and dolphin were separated the Dolphin killed itself by just floating to the bottom of the tank and refusing to breathe since Dolphins don’t automatically breathe like humans.
Also for some reason this was funded by NASA? So like, idk what NASA needed speaking dolphins fie.
