Does atherosclerosis occur at the same rate across the vessels

I want to know if the blockage in arteries begins at some particular place first, and then follows across the body? If someone has blockage in carotid arteries wouldn’t imply that their coronary arteries would have same fate
Or if someone has clean arteries else, but the coronary arteries are clogged

It does not start in one place and spread to others. If you have coronary artery disease, then you are at higher risk for stroke, because you also likely have narrowing in your carotid arteries. However, it does not happen evenly throughout all of your blood vessels. There are often short segments with more severe disease than others
