does injecting heroin burn the subject?

So, as someone who’s never encountered drugs in her life, I just found out that people typically light a fire under a spoonful of heroin and liquid to be able to inject it.

I was wondering… is the resulting liquified heroin hot enough to burn the person injecting it? If so, do people let it cool, or just say “fuck it” since it’ll destroy their veins anyway? Just give me all the details, because in my mind that’d hurt like hell.

Genuinely curious; thanks in advance.

I wouldnt think so, that would burn like wildfire. It has a low liquidation point, and its a small amount which likely cools quickly without a constant source of heat.

No. You first heat up the spoon to get the water boiling in mixing your heroin. Stir it around and by the time you place your cotton in, pull the drugs into the needle and find a vein it’s been cooled off. It only takes a few seconds to cool. Then you get a warm itch feeling and can smell the cut on your nose almost instantly. Take the needle out and hope you didn’t over do it . After a few minutes you’ll find somewhere to sit/lay and smoke a cigarette (makes the drugs feel stronger) and nodd off

Ever wake up on a cool sunny fall/spring morning where the bed is perfectly warm and the blanket is still somehow a little cool and you kind of drift in and our of sleep, totally relaxed and comfortable and it feels amazing just to lay in bed?

It’s kind of like that.

I had another friend who used to use who would describe it as “getting a little drunk, getting a massage and then sitting in a hot tub” for people who wanted to understand the feeling.

Obviously these are just parallels, the actual chemical induced sensations are unique, but I think these get you I’m the general direction.
