eli5 Are nerve endings removed during tummy tucks?

When someone gets a tummy tuck, and skin is removed then stretched down to stitch up, is that area of skin that was removed not have sensitivity anymore? does the person just feel the area from where their stomach was high up then randomly connecting to their lap? Do nerves like rebuild and give back that lower stomach feeling or does the individual not have those nerves to feel a “Lower stomach” if that makes sense

Well yeah, it is dead and gone. I should hope you can’t keep feeling things from an amputated patch of skin. That would make it being incinerated as medical waste very unpleasant.

Yes, but the brain is malleable and people will fairly quickly adjust to the new location of their skin and it will feel contiguous.
