Eli5: Does purchasing Baja Blast at grocery stores put money in Taco Bell’s pocket?

Taco Bell has made some political choices I disagree with fervently, and I no longer wish to support their business. However, I love me some Baja Blast. Hence, my moral conundrum.

If your concern is with the guy who donated a lot of money to Trump, then you’re fine buying Baja Blast in a grocery store. That guy *franchises* from Taco Bell, Wendys etc. That means he pays Taco Bell a fee to use their branding and materials but otherwise runs the restaurants himself. Buying Baja Blast from a grocery store sends money to the central Taco Bell business but not to him. It’s also possible that he has nothing to do with your local Taco Bell, especially if you’re not in Texas.
