Contrast ratio is the ratio between the light given off by the brightest pixel and the darkest pixel. If you have a TV like an OLED TV, you can turn individual pixels off, so they are giving off no light at all. This is a classic divide by zero situation. If any of the pixels give off any light at all when one gives off no light, the contrast ratio is infinite.
