eli5: How does someone mix metals?

I was watching a video yesterday explaining how a jet works and they talked about how the first jet would get to hot and melt the metal so they made a new type of metal that was a mix of nickel, chrome, steel, and molybdenum. I’m just curious how they mix all those metals together.

This is called an alloy. They heat up the metals until they are molten and then mix them together. It is not too different from how you would mix jello in your kitchen as this also requires you to heat up the mix to the temperature at which the gelatine melts so that they can be mixed together. But of course the metals they are talking about melts at much higher temperatures.
