Being pregnant requires your body to produce a special hormone that is only produced by pregnancy.
This hormone, like many other things, gets removed by the body in urine.
The pregnancy test detects this hormone.
When you’re pregnant, the hormone HCG is produced, also known as the “pregnancy hormone”
Some of that gets into the urine, and that’s what the pregnancy test is detecting.
