Ethnology is a field of study. Like Mathematics.
Ethnology is a collection of knowledge that you get by employing various techniques and tools like ethnography.

Ethnography is a method of study, which has steps procedures, most major of which are living with a group and write things down. This will be like solving a quadratic equations.

Ethnography studies cultures by experiencing them first-hand. Ethnology studies cultures from a more scientific perspective, looking at larger scale population dynamics and cultural interactions, as opposed to Ethnography which often studies just a single person or small group at a time.

Of course as with most soft sciences there’s a lot of overlap and it can often be very hard to strictly define what is and isn’t a particular thing.
