I understand that certain surgeries can be very technical and require a lot of skill and even a couple of hours, but I don’t understand what would make a surgery last upwards of 5 hours. That seems like a lot of time for cutting someone open and fixing them up.

Why does your mechanic need a couple days to fix the engine you burned out. It’s just really complicated and humans are wayyyyy more complicated so of course some surgeries can take a long time. Some upwards of 32 hours btw
