La Jument is probably the best example I could find but question applies to other lighthouses, how are they built?
There has to be major issues with transporting materials and the location they have to be in must make it a challenge. Even more so in ancient times, how was it done?

It’s on a rock in the sea, so yeah, it can’t have been easy to build, you just have to bring in everything by boat. All the materials, equipment, workers etc. Also it’s hardly ancient times, it was built in the early 20th century, and it took 7 years to build exactly because of the challenging conditions.
