Maybe they only thought they were rebelling?
The simplest explanation is that the Book of Revelation is a load of crap that is completely inconsistent with the rest of the religion, and maybe the Christians should take some advice from the Jews and just ignore it.

God made the Angel’s first, and he endowed them with supernatural powers. They are like his lieutenants, if he commands them to do something they do it. But of course the Angel’s have minds of their own they arent robots.
