When we eat food how powerful is the acid in our stomach, is it powerful enough to kill a life? For example, if someone ate goldfish or shrimp alive. How does it work, do the acid kill them immediately or they die slowly.

Remember winning a goldfish at a carnival by landing a ping-pong ball into a small glass bowl? A friend did it, was drunk, someone dared him to drink the water, fish and all. He did. 15 minutes later he vomited up the fish, water, and beer he had been drinking. The fish was still flopping around on the ground as we all laughed our asses off.
