(eli5) Shaking the bottle before opening

When I shake a closed bottle that has never been opened before opening it, it seems as if it is not being shaken or there is no sound from inside, but when I open the cap once and try again, you hear and feel the sound.

I guess this happens because there is air in it, but I don’t understand what the difference is when there is no air in it, I would be very happy if you explain it.

Before you open a container it is commonly vacuum sealed as a preservative. The liquid can still move around, but as liquid cannot be compressed (not easily, anyway), there’s no “sloshing”.

The sound comes from small particles of water moving into the air gap and falling back onto the surface of the water
