Eli5 Slanted rocks

At a lot of places I’ve visited where the sea meets the land and I’m sure inland as well quite often there’s a wall of rock that’s on a diagonal. I would guess this is where plates have moved ages ago and forced some of rock to be at an angle, is this what happened?

Yes, it’s pretty likely that’s exactly what happened. It’s also possible a big chunk of formerly horizontal rock broke, slid and rotated as the result of wave erosion, but tectonic movement is generally what causes it.
