I recently bought one that hangs from the ceiling in a pretty golden frame because it seemed like such a foreign concept. A plant that doesn’t need soil? Where do the nutrients come from that it needs to stay alive? Especially since they are able to go for so long without being watered.

They pull nutrients and moisture from the air through their leaves.
Their roots are more for anchoring than pulling nutrients.
In terms of watering they do need quite a bit of water, but soaks are sufficient once a week. (A good number of plants require watering once a week, especially if indoors)
