Eli5: what are silent heart attacks ?

I heard somewhere that you can have silent heart attacks.

Can you tell if you got a silent heart attack or is it actually “silent”?

A ‘silent’ heart attack is a heart attack. With dulled or potentially nonexistent symptoms. Generally, there will be some symptoms, even if they’re a lot less violent than you might expect, but heart attacks with no symptoms have been documented.

So… potentially, yes. You could have a heart attack, survive and be none the wiser.

You wouldn’t know when it happened, but medical tests can generally detect it after the fact.
