eli5 What causes “super moons” to appear to be different colors?

Why do some Super Moons appear to be tinted orange, pink, or blue? Is this something related to shifts in our atmosphere, alignment of the Moon and Earth relative to the Sun, or something else?

Blue moons aren’t blue. Pink moons aren’t pink. Both of these are phrases about the **timing** of the full moon.

You can have a night where atmospheric conditions lead to a more yellow/orange moon, more dust in the air leads to a more yellow moon, especially when the moon is near the horizon and moon light is passing through more of the atmosphere

Blood moons are caused by partial lunar eclipse
