Eli5: What do people do in a bachelor or bachelorette party and does it always only involve single people

Varies hugely. For mine I hired a house in the countryside and had a load of friends for the weekend – big shared meals, a couple of long walks, boardgames, a couple of pubs. It was lovely. I’ve been to ones where there were activities like paintballing or clay pigeon shooting or kayaking. I’ve been to one or two where strippers were hired. Those I enjoyed least of all.
For me a good one is about spending quality time with friends.
And no, not everyone was single. For mine I even had a pretty even mix of ladies and gents. Because I wanted friends because they were friends, not to have some weird focus on not being ‘single’ any more.
