Eli5: What do people do in a bachelor or bachelorette party and does it always only involve single people

I’ve been to several bachelor parties in my day, and even thrown one. The most accurate answer is that it depends entirely on the bride and groom, and their personalities. The activities of the bachelor parties have varied drastically, from getting a VERY nice suite at a casino playing poker st a private table, to renting an Airbnb for a 4 day weekend & renting a movie theater to play video games on the screen, to hanging out smoking weed and drinking before we went to a gentlemen’s club or had a exotic dancer show up. Personally, I found the parties with the exotic dancers the least fun.
