Affinity Analysis is a general term for finding if certain items have common behaviours that correlate with each other. In essence, it helps with cross-selling or selling additional items once customers have bought something else.
It might be easier to explain this through e-commerce. Think of things like if you are shopping online for car parts for your Nissan. All those parts are now considered “related” because they have a correlation in all being items that you looked at. Same thing for if you bought a bunch of parts, they would be considered more “related”. The more customers make those similar searches/bulk purchases, the more related those items get. And this is how those “customers also browsed for/purchased” sections get created. It’s also how people figure out how to create bundle deals.
