Publicity is when your seen by the public / mass media for doing something. Score a winning goal in world cup that person would get lots of publicity. Its when you have ‘fame’ for a period of time.
Marketing is trying to get your business seen by your customers so they buy your product or use your product or interact with your business. Its trying to get ‘publicity’ amongst your customers.
Digital marketing is when you try to get customers to be aware of you on digital methods. Emails, social media, website banner promotions. Rather than billboards, tv advertising, flyers. You can do marketing via the internet (digital) or in person.
A campaign is an approach to get publicity. So if a business wants to be seen by their customers. They would create a marketing campaign. Which could be to promote a cool competition online where customers win a prize. Or a campaign could be to a TV advert that is on TV for 9 weeks about a new product. Marketing can’t always happen every day throughout the year. Sometimes you will have months where you do a marketing campaign to get publicity.
