Eli5: What’s inside those black boxes on circuit boards, and what’s happening inside when the machine is running?

They contain different sensitive microcomponents, like processors, capacitors e.t.c. and inside happens the same thing that would happen in bigger electrical components. The black box is just a protective shell.
