The taste you are referring to is likely nitrous oxide, or some other kind of gas that is used as a propellant. It’s definitely very unhealthy to inhale, but you can get high off it. However it’ll make you a horrible person in my experience as a drug user myself. You probably shouldn’t be spraying whipped cream right into your mouth, but onto whatever food you’re topping it with. The more gas that can be crammed in the can, the fluffier the whipped cream will be. Oxygen would double the volume of cream, but nitrous oxide quadruples it. But the actual benefit of it is that nitrous oxide is bad for bacteria, and Oxygen is helpful to it’s growth. While directly inhaling NOx can be really really bad for you, i believe it’s still acceptable to use in canned whipped cream because after it expands the volume of the cream, it just kind dissolves into the air, but I’m just speculating that. Don’t do drugs kids.
