eli5 what’s the difference between a deep male voice and a deep female voice?

like, even when women have naturally deep voices they still usually don’t sound like men, they’re exceptions of course, like Kathleen Turner, but they’re the exception

so what’s the difference?

Pitch is only one part of how your voice sounds, theres also resonance, which I can only describe as where your voice “comes from”, men tend to resonate more in their chest and women their head. Thirdly there’s intonation, which is how you emphasise words. Men tend to emphasise by getting louder, and women by raising the pitch.
