White blood cells are what make up your immune system. It’s an umbrella term for a lot of different cells, including B cells, T cells, macro phages, dendritic cells, and neutrophils (and others). B cells have receptors on them that can detach and float around in the blood, neutralizing pathogens (bacteria, viruses, etc.)

Those receptors, when free floating in the blood, are called antibodies
