Eli5: What’s the difference between Selling Price and Sales Price?
1) I didn’t think of this one (Rustprony mentioned it) one is the everyday price and one is the discounted price.
2) Selling price is what the seller is asking for the product. Sales price is what is actually paid for the product. Many guitars (especially high end ones) are advertised at a specific price, but the guitar dealer is willing to accept a lower value. This is very common on eBay and similar sites which have an “or best offer” option. Just because you see those 18th century candelabras being offered for $1500 doesn’t mean that is what they sold for.
Selling price would be the every day price of something. The sales price is the price when it is on sale or reduced from the selling price.
