Back in the old days (Middle Ages) people would use apples and their skin to clean the gunk off their teeth. Apple pulp was used in pultices for other medicines. In today’s age, we know that apples contain fructose which causes dental plaque regardless of their fibrous texture.

they’re hard, needs strong teeth to eat it, needing stronger teeth causes a kid to develop stronger teeth, its not really the apple is more like the practice of eating apple

They are good to learn how to chew when you are a small baby… Chewing foods develop the jaw. But they are not especially good for your teeth. That is an old parenting rumor.

They have sugars that need to be brushed away otherwise bacteria will digest the sugars into cavity causing acids. This is why you need to brush at least twice a day, to remove carbs, sugars, and bits of food from your teeth.

Im a dentist and they are not considered good for your teeth. Full of sugar and hard to bite into means bad for cavities and likely to fracture your teeth
