They are good to learn how to chew when you are a small baby… Chewing foods develop the jaw. But they are not especially good for your teeth. That is an old parenting rumor. 

They have sugars that need to be brushed away otherwise bacteria will digest the sugars into cavity causing acids. This is why you need to brush at least twice a day, to remove carbs, sugars, and bits of food from your teeth.
