I think females suck human blood to have babies, so they might be putting the eggs in a pond outside. (As far as i know at least)

Temperature or sun related? We have terrible mosquitoes in Minnesota. If you went down to the creek or someplace cool and with a lot of shade you’d get mosquitoes. But nearly none in a warm sunny open place.

I asked our Alexa where mosquitos hide inside. She said they hide under furniture and behind drapes during the day and come out to feed at night. Terrifying!

It depends on the species. Some will come inside to find someone to feed on. Others will come inside to find a safe place to hide and might stay all winter.
