Your face is due to fluid build up overnight.
Theres lots of liquids in your body that distribute themselves all around as you are awake and upright.
When you sleep and remain by and large motionless, the fluids build up in various areas, such as face and back (which is why your back can be stiff when you wake up). After a while fluids redistribute and things go back to normal
