Eli5 Why do people who have acne on their face not have it everywhere else?

If you’re prone to acne why is it only on your face? Not your scalp, legs, arms. My eczema shows up everywhere but I’ve only heard of face acne and back acne.

Acne is basically when some glands in your skin produce too much oil and it gets trapped, along with dead skin and bacteria, in your pores. You just have more of these glands in your face, chest, back, and shoulders than elsewhere so that’s why you’re more likely to get acne in those places. You can get pimples elsewhere, but you’re not making as much oil there so it’s not as common.

You definitely do get acne on your legs, back, privates, etc. The face is more prone to sweating and has more open air exposure than other parts.
