[ELI5] Why does applying a torque on an unthreaded cap map it easier to pull off?

I think it’s because it allows you to use a differemt set of muscles that may be somewhat stronger, and you can still apply some force in the direction you’d like to pull the cap but now you have more force to overcome the inertia.

This is a guess based on my understanding of physics, I cannot confirm it to be the real reason.
