Eli5: why does audio have such a big impact on our mood?

There’s something wrong with my bluetooth speaker which makes the audio falter. And although I rarily get angry , the broken rhythm of the audio makes me want to throw my speaker and phone out the window in rage after like 5 seconds.

There was a recent post on Reddit where someone explained that this is why computers can freeze but the audio will keep playing. Apparently there is always some spare CPU to avoid interrupted audio because people can’t deal with that.

Similarly, music seems to have a direct impact on our mood.

So why does our sense of hearing seem to impact our mood so much?

I get mad REALLY fast when i work with a mouse that has different settings than mine. Perhaps is because the expectation are different from the results and and this creates a “micro-anger” and then when it is repeated again in a short period of time these cumulates and you become angrier.
