Eli5: Why does exercise make you deep sleep?

I heard that exercise makes you deep sleep. The more exercise the more deep sleep. And I assume the less exercise, the less deep sleep.

Why is this?

This isn’t true. The average night’s sleep involves all the stages of sleep (light to dreaming to deep and back) in roughly 90 minute cycles.

Exercise doesn’t cause you to be in deep sleep any longer than usual.

You may fall asleep more easily because your body is actually tired, but your sleep cycles will be the same.
