eli5: Why does it take longer for mobile batteries to charge after 70-80%?

While the batteries now a days charge from 0 to 50 in like 5 to 10 minutes, it almost takes twice as long to charge from that point 100%.

It’s mostly due to the software of the charging system. They go at a higher voltage for the initial part and slow down to prevent damage during the final stages.
I believe that’s the reason at least, it’s been awhile since I read about it and it could’ve been wrong
