Why is it so polarizing?
Even people who used to smoke a lot just can t anymore, myself included: I used to exclusively smoke until my early 20s; Now even a couple tokes make me either feel self conscious or totally overwhelmed and „braindead“.
Others have the exact opposite effect, where it makes them super relaxed or even forget all their worries to a point that they need to stop to confront their problems.

Imagine you have a glass of water. It’s half full. You pour half a glass worth in and now it’s full. You’re happy you have a nice full glass of water!
Someone else has a glass of water… but its 2/3rds full. They pour the same amount as you into their glass. It spills all over! They’re annoyed now cause they’re wet.
Weed (and most other drugs) don’t create new neurons or anything like that. Rather they bind to receptors in your brain and change and trigger natural processes in an unnatural way.
That means the initial state of those natural processes is the most important predictor of how someone reacts to weed (or any drug)
I can’t say either. When I was young and smoked up, it always put me to sleep. So I stopped.
Now, as a middle-aged person, I wanted something to help me sleep at night, and everyone told me to try edibles, so I did. Four nights in a row a laid awake, staring at the ceiling and thinking goofy thoughts. So I gave up on it.
From my absolutely, totally anecdotal experience: a lot of the people who get anxious and paranoid when smoking weed are women. A lot of the men get totally relaxed. I know it sounds weird, and of course this doesn’t apply to everyone, but most of the women I’ve met dislike the way they feel after consuming cannabis. Probably like 90% of women I’ve talked to.
No idea why that is.
