It blocks your body from metabolizing/using ATP the chemical your sells use for energy. In short eat too much arsenic no matter how much food you eat your body will starve to death.

The stuff in the cells in your body go through many chemical reactions that create what is called ATP. You can think of ATP as the energy your cells need to function. Arsenic prevent the cells from effectively creating the energy. Without the energy your cells can’t function and you will die
