eli5 Why is it is better for the environment to pee down the sink or Bathtub instead of flushing down the toilet ?

In a vacuum perhaps, but it’s also unsanitary if you’re peeing into a small vessel like a sink, because of splatter and stains, or into a bathtub that people use, for the same reason. So what you gain environmentally you’ll lose hygienically.
