Eli5 Why is it less common to get eye infections from just walking into suspended bacteria?

Your tears actually contain antibiotic chemicals and you have an immune system that has been protecting your eyes from birth. Finally most bacteria just isn’t a concern. Sure there are types that cause issues but you need a lot to be more than you can kill faster than they grow.
There’s a protective layer of liquid separating your eye from the air, I think, that’s also where tears come from
