Like everybody is talking about language, but it’s literally because of the world wars, the empire was basically disbanded, military power was forced to be given up,And the emperor had to basically claim in front of all of the people that he wasn’t the toughest person in the world plus a bunch of other basic smear campaigns for a good reason but executed poorly
