Eli5: Why rabbits flare/kick out their front paws before cleaning themselves?

I’ve noticed that my rabbit does this, but only when he goes to balance on this back paws. It’s basically to help them “balance” as they start to stand, using momentum, similar to how you might have a little jump when you change positions.

It also probably kicks some dust and dirt from the fur, meaning a faster job.
