Eli5:what’s the cause of someone being right or left handed? And why the vast majority is right handed?

I’m a lefty. I suck at art. I’ve noticed over the course of my 65+ years that for some reason I don’t seem to process information or react to some situations like most people do. I’ve grown to accept that I’m just different. Not better, not worse. Just a beat or two off the usual rhythm of life.
