Eli5:When you take drugs that block the reabsorption of neurotransmitters, doesn’t this mean that after the first use of these neurotransmitters, the second use will be of an inferior quality?

No. The transmitters don’t degrade that quickly after they are used and reabsorbed.

Without the drugs, the transmitters are released, used, and excess is reabsorbed. On the drugs, the reabsorption is delayed to that they have more time to trigger the next nerve – nothing about their composition changes.
